Dieter Jendrossek

Dieter Jendrossek leads the research group "Microbial Cell Biology and Biopolymers". His research interests include the fundamentals of the formation and metabolism of polyhydroxybutyric acid granules (PHB, so-called bioplastics), polyphosphate granules (PolyP) and the degradation of rubber (caoutchouc) by haem-containing dioxygenases (rubber oxygenases). Dieter Jendrossek is currently the spokesperson for the section "Microbial Cell Biology" of the Association for General and Applied Microbiology (VAAM).
